The presentation was to a Colonel Art. Jorge Garcia Marantes from Comandant of the Division, Raoul Castro Ruz on November 25, 1974.
It is not known if the Colonel was in Cuban service or in the military of another country.
The pistol is a standard Russian Makarov in 9mm Makarov, with the addition of a brass plate (with inscription) attached to the left grip.
It was manufactured in 1972, shortly before the presentation, and is in a special case with holster and spare magazines.
