This unusual special order .22 rifle may be the only one made by Marlin in this configuration.
The factory records show it was shipped from the factory on March 10, 1900, returned and shipped again on May 24, 1900. It was recorded as a Model 1897 with pistol grip and 24" octagonal barrel.
